For a short period in the spring of 2021, I had to respond to several requests that were inherently similar. If all of them are combined and reduced to one that conveys the essence as much as possible, then it will look like this: “How to figure out between the three shampoos for washing carpet in one line of shampoos?” Or like this: “How to choose a shampoo for washing carpets?”

Well, there is a common question, there will be an exhaustive answer.

How to select shampoo for washing carpets for each specific case

In principle, for carpet-cleaning masters there is no secret that carpets are different in many parameters – pile material, base materials, presence or absence of glue and its type, impregnation, thickness, length of pile, in the end, carpets differ in character and the intensity of pollution.

It is clear that a separate shampoo cannot be selected for each case. Although, of course, you can try, but if you can get confused in three shampoos for washing carpets, then in a dozen of them you can definitely break both a leg and a head. But even one shampoo “for all occasions” cannot be created.

Carpet shampoos for hand cleaning

The reason is that at least some carpets are products that need to be washed in delicate shampoos with low pH and various additives that make the shampoo, on the one hand, effective against dirt, on the other hand, delicate towards fibers. It is clear that miracles do not happen, but to create a shampoo that at least approximately corresponds to such requirements, you need better surfactants, more complexing agents, and they should be more varied, and so on.

In the line of shampoos for washing carpets Wieberr in Ukraine there is such a shampoo – Platinium Shampoo. The solution of this shampoo has a low pH – 8 in solution, a relatively high detergency, its work depends little on the hardness of the water. It is great for woolen carpets, the same shampoo can be used as a shampoo for silk carpets with a wet-resistant color.

Shampoo for bulk carpets

But what about the choice of shampoo for washing carpets for car washes, for example?

A complex recipe is needed only for expensive handmade carpets, silk, expensive factory wool. Do you require the same recipe for mass-produced carpets?

Obviously, shampoos made according to simpler recipes can be used there.

Moreover, we see how people carry to wash carpets!. There were cases when carpets were washed with active foam for cars. Surprisingly, many rugs survived this wash. Some are even used for years after such, um, well, let’s say, washing. Of course, a lot of carpets and deterioration when washed at a car wash will further reduce the service life. But the fact remains, and the carpets are carried to the sinks, the carpets at the sinks are washed.

In general, for a mass carpet it is possible (the example with car washes illustrates this perfectly) and you need a simple shampoo, the main criterion of which will be the price! There is a similar request from carpet washing shops.

All the times you can hear: “Sell me cheap carpet shampoo! I rinse them well anyway, and most carpets are resistant synthetics with medium to low dirtiness. “

And to such a request, the Ukrainian manufacturer of TM Wieberr can answer: “This is an Extra shampoo.”

Yes, Extra is an inexpensive shampoo. Yes, Extra is a shampoo without outstanding performance. But! Extra is a shampoo that can be used to wash 80% of carpet workshop visitors! Moreover, it is a shampoo that is also suitable for car washes, will reduce the risk of damage to carpets and increase the number of satisfied customers!

A powerful shampoo for very dirty carpets

But it turns out that one shampoo is not enough. You require at least two shampoos for washing very dirty carpets!

In some countries, carpets are washed frequently. For example, in Turkey, it is quite common when carpets are washed every six months. For a short period of operation between washes, the carpet does not have time to get very dirty.

“The carpet does not have time to get very dirty.” I wrote it and I think: “Can the carpet get dirty by itself?”. Obviously not, and it would be more correct to write: “For a short period between washes, the owners of the carpet do not have time to get it dirty!”

So, it turned out to be surprising for Turkish colleagues that carpet cleaners in Ukraine or Poland need shampoos that are an order of magnitude more powerful than those that are used on a daily basis in Turkey. Our carpets are washed less often, some customers wash them once a decade! There are carpets of the 70-80s of the last century, which were first washed or dry-cleaned only in the 20-30s of the present century, which means that some of them have not been washed for half a century!

Cultural differences also have a strong effect – it is customary for Muslims to take off their shoes when entering a house, into a prayer hall. And in Poland, for example, they regularly enter houses and apartments without taking off their shoes.

The climate affects. Surprising as it may seem, the predominantly drier weather in the already mentioned Turkey leads to the fact that less dirt is dragged on the feet.

In general, it can be reduced to the fact that in our reality, some carpets are very dirty products. VERY!

And for washing such carpets, you need a reinforced shampoo. In the line of Wieberr shampoos, Skaria Shampoo became such a shampoo for washing carpets, the solution of which also gives a fairly highly alkaline reaction (9.5-10), and contains a complex mixture of complexing agents, and is sufficiently saturated with surfactants, selected so that some enhance the effect others.

Choosing a shampoo for washing is easy as 1-2-3!

Thus, everything that is written above can be reduced to a simple and understandable scheme of how to choose a shampoo for washing carpets:

There are never too many shampoos

While the article was being written and was waiting for its publication, a new shampoo was tested, it will most likely be released on the market under the name Hard Shampoo. Its solution will give up to 10.5-11 pH, and it is intended for washing heavily soiled carpets.

It differs from Skaria Shampoo shampoo with even greater detergency, but also with greater aggressiveness to materials, therefore it is highly undesirable to use it on natural carpets.

The appearance of such a shampoo is due to the requirements from the carpet washing shops, which come across not only dirty and trampled carpets, but also heavily stained, including those stained with food products containing fats and proteins. Of course, in such a situation, even just a reinforced shampoo is not enough, you need a shampoo, reinforced twice. This is exactly what Hard Shampoo has become.
